What is your most memorable CrossFit moment so far?

Probably the point at which I thought I was finally fit enough to do an open workout as fully Rx, 22.1 – as I completed the third wall walk, my hand gave way and I came crashing down on my own fist and cracked a rib, lesson learnt – keep your ambition in line with your ability (still kept going till the time cap though!)

What is your favourite movement/workout?

Anything that involves weights and mates. For me, the best part of going to a regular class (shout out to the 7am crew) is that you find people with a similar ability range as you, and push each other to be the best you can. I love trying to find a new max clean/squat with mates and cheering each other on.

What is your least favourite movement/workout?

All the cardio ones. When Simone started coming along to Blitz with me we did a You Go I Go workout, and I think that was the shortest break I’ve ever had in a workout. That said, the harder you push yourself, the easier it gets, and I can do at least 200m of running without having a complete blowout these days!

Name a CF goal you hope to achieve by the end of this year?

I feel agonisingly close to getting TTB, but I’d also love to hit a 100kg clean. With a few holidays coming up in the summer, I think ‘maintaining any fitness I’ve picked up’ is probably the main goal though.

What do you do when you’re not training at Blitz?

At the moment, our life is revolving around planning our wedding in Spain – but outside of that I work in communications, so I spend a lot of time writing words and making videos. I’m also found walking away from people to go and pet any dog that I see.

What is your favourite part of being a Blitz Member?

Nothing gets rid of the morning grumps like walking in to the waiting area to see all your friends. I used to do the 6pm classes, but found that when you do 7am, you can trick your mind into thinking you’re not fully awake yet, and then you get the post-workout endorphins till about lunchtime. The community in Blitz is really something special, and whether it’s the Summer Social, Friday Night Lights, or just Coach Lawrence playing the same song six times in one workout, there’s always a laugh to be found in the physical suffering.

If you could give a new member one piece of advice- what would it be?

Work out at your max, not anyone else’s. It’s so easy to try and match pace or weight, but focus on your own ability. Set yourself some goals, work out the steps to get there, put them into action and always give it 100% attitude and effort and the rest will come together.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself…

My great great grandfather was the Burgrave (Duke) of Krakow, and I’m theoretically heir to the title!
