How did you first get involved with Blitz?

I can't remember how I found out about CrossFit, nor can I remember how I found out about Blitz but I do remember that my first WOD was Annie, 50-40-30-20-10 double unders (single unders back then) and sit-ups. Tim was coaching and coach Wardlow was in the class as was Blitz Crossfit legend Pat Murray, Pat finished when I was still on my round of 40 sit-ups! I couldn't believe anyone could finish it so fast. I can't remember what the time cap was, but I know I got time capped that day!

What is your most memorable CrossFit moment so far?

When I smashed coach Jamie at 19.1 in the Open, the number of times I've beaten coach Jamie in a workout I can count on 1 hand, or moreaccurately, 1 finger. I remind him regularly.

What is your favourite movement/workout?

Squat snatch, power snatch, hang snatch, split snatch, dumbbell snatch, kettlebell snatch... basically any kind of snatch. Also, since I learnt butterfly kipping pull ups I really love those, it's so smooth and floaty and effortless when you get it right.

What is your least favourite movement/workout?

There's nothing I hate, I do what I'm told as hard as I can. Muscle-ups are the most frustrating, they come and go, mostly go. I'm pretty sure it's a timing issue for me but despite being frustrating I still enjoy the journey, the struggle will make it more rewarding when they become consistent.

Name a CF goal you hope to achieve by the end of this year?

I'm 100% sure a 110kg clean is there for the taking this year, as is an 85kg snatch. In the long term my goal is a bodyweight snatch (currently around 90kg). Also muscle ups, see above!

What do you do when you’re not training at Blitz?

Talk about CrossFit, think about CrossFit, walk in the countryside, wish I lived in the countryside, talk to people's dogs, cook, drink wine.

What is your favourite part of being a Blitz Member?

No matter how rubbish my day is I know that once I come to Blitz I'll feel 100% better, even if I don't have a good workout I'll still have a good laugh, I love this community!

If you could give a new member one piece of advice- what would it be?

Celebrate every victory, the PB bell is not there only for people lifting bars full of weight, if it's your first double under, ring the bell. If it's your first single under, ring the bell. We want to celebrate every achievement with you so ring the bell, listen to the cheer and collect some high fives! Also, back yourself, you're fitter and stronger than you think (credit coach Si (Dunn) for that one)!

Tell us a fun fact about yourself...

I'm moving to the countryside! I've absolutely loved being a part of this community and I feel very privileged to have been a part of it but now feels like a good time to make the move to the countryside so I'll be off to Devon some time in February. You'll still see me every now and then as I'll be in London once a month so it's not goodbye. Also, I want my 1000 class Hoodie! Love ya all!
