How did you first get involved with Blitz?
I have always enjoyed fitness, and had spent a few years at a Gymbox in central London. Whilst they had lots of different classes on offer, the programming never changed and so I was frustrated with not seeing any real progress in my strength. In early 2020 Adam encouraged me to come to a Bring a Friend class, and he was not impressed with having to keep up with me in the partner workout! From there I never looked back….

How did you first get involved with Blitz?
Having wanted to do CrossFit for some years and putting it off for a multitude of reasons, I decided to bite the bullet and find somewhere local having moved to the area and growing tired of working out alone in commercial gyms.

September Member of the month // Clare Mroz
How did you first get involved with Blitz?
I first got involved with Blitz when a mutual member of both Patch and Blitz introduced me to Tim. As soon as I could, I signed up and did my first Blitz workout with Graeme and was hooked. Having previously done CrossFit in Canada, I was thrilled to find a box here in Twickenham with similar community values and high-quality coaches.

How did you first get involved with Blitz?
This is a bit complicated… it was back in 2012 when Ben & Tim asked my construction company to help them convert the derelict warehouse into a CrossFit box. It took me a further three more years before I forced my body (it was 140kg back then!!) to start exercising at Blitz!

How did you first get involved with Blitz?
Before joining Blitz I used to do the odd gym class and triathlon but was getting bored doing the same thing all the time. So before my wedding I decided to take on a new challenge and CrossFit had just come onto my radar. I ended up googling the closest gym and 5 years later I’m still hooked and enjoying it as much as I did when I first joined

Sean is a fully qualified Personal Trainer and an ex-professional runner, and has been training with us for almost two years. He has since competed in Hyrox a number of times and has made it to the World Championships in the Pro Division. But what brought him to Blitz in the first place? How did you first get involved with Blitz?
As a lot of people know, I used to live with Bryony who also comes to Blitz! During the final lockdown of the Covid pandemic, she convinced me to try and fit a bike from Blitz in my car and bring it back to the house. Meeting some of the team, alongside me hiding behind the sofa and following along to Zoom workouts convinced me to join up!

How did you first get involved with Blitz?
We moved to Twickenham two years ago and I signed up at Virgin Active, but just felt like something was missing… That's when I realised I have to go back to my Crossfit roots. James initially joined the box, and a few months later (when my gym membership came to an end) I couldn't wait to sign up with Blitz. I did the drop-in class at first, and I just felt like it's the right place for me.

How did you first get involved with Blitz?
I had been training pretty regularly for about a year at another gym but didn’t feel I was getting much fitter or stronger. Then I watched a documentary about the CrossFit Games, went straight online and booked my trial at Blitz.

March Member of the month // Britany Anderson
How did you first get involved with Blitz?
I first joined Blitz back in August 2023 coming out of the world of bodybuilding and I was interested in getting involved in CrossFit as I wanted to shift my focus to training for performance and wanted to get involved in a CrossFit community. I had looked at other crossfit boxes in the area and decided to give Blitz a go and have never looked back since.
Members’ Corner - Becky
We know the challenges of trying to fit a structured exercise regime into daily life. The additional difficulty is then when your work and lifestyle changes! Luckily CrossFit is adaptable to whatever you are going through, and the community at Blitz will always be here no matter how often you make it through the door.
Becky first joined us in August 2018, worked as a teacher and fitted CrossFit classes at Blitz around her working schedule. Fast-forward to the present day, and Becky has a 2 and a half year old daughter, and has also embarked on a career change. Read on to find out how her training has changed along with her daily routines….
February Member of the month // Sam Wilkinson
How did you first get involved with Blitz?
Before joining Blitz, I was mainly into long distance running but had been looking for something more to improve my overall fitness and strength. Lou (who many of you will also know from Blitz) and I went to Thailand back in Dec 2022, and we did a fitness bootcamp in Ko Samui. The bootcamp had CrossFit sessions. I’d never heard of it before but I liked the challenge and variety of the workouts and wanted to do more.

How did you first get involved with Blitz?
I signed up the week Blitz opened in October 2013. I’d already been doing regular PT sessions with Tim for a few years and I just totally loved the training - especially lifting heavy weights for the very first time in my life - and the results we got. I knew Tim was planning his then-new venture, so joining Blitz was the natural next step for me.
Katies Return!
One of the hardest parts of the business we are in is having to say goodbye to our members. We know that without the members, we would have no community. Without the community, we would have no Blitz. But we understand that sometimes life gets in the way and people have their personal reasons for parting ways with us.
The great thing about the aforementioned community is that it remains open. Whether you left us 6 months or 6 years ago, we will always welcome you back with open arms and get ready to pick up where we left off.
