How did you first get involved at Blitz?
Sabrina and I were signed up to the local Gym Group and not using it. I had done an F45 freetaster when we were living in Hammersmith and Sabrina went extensively when she lived in Reading. So we googled Functional Fitness near Hounslow and went to a Blitz Crossfit taster session.
What is your most memorable CrossFit moment so far?
I enjoyed participating in the open this year - Trish was exceptionally patient while I spent 5 minutes on 5 wall walks.
What is your favourite movement/workout?
DT was a fun work-out and Clean and Jerk is my favourite movement.
What is your least favourite movement/workout?
Burpees.
Name a CrossFit goal you hope to achieve by the end of this year?
My main goal is to lose weight ahead of getting married later this year. But I would like to be able to complete the remaining exercises I can't do - HSPU, MU, Pistols and stringing together sets of Double-unders.
What do you do when you’re not training at Blitz?
Usually walking the dog or playing video games. I play mixed netball on Tuesdays and use my holidays skiing or scuba diving.
What is your favourite part of being a Blitz member?
All the coaches and members are really nice and friendly. Especially 6am in the VIP room.
If you could give a new member one piece of advice what would it be?
Don't be afraid to fail. I have missed plenty of box jumps and slipped off the pull up bar, but no one will take any notice other than making sure you are ok.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself....
I spent 8 days hiking through the Himalayas and made it to the peak of Stok Kangri at 6,153m.
