How did you first get involved with Blitz?

I used to be an avid rugby player before breaking the same collarbone 4 times in under 2 years (or 3 times in 9 months whichever is more impressive) which put an end to that. After some time searching for a new way of staying active being unsuccessful, during some post uni travelling I met an Aussie couple who would not shut up about Crossfit and they made it sound pretty good. So after a combination of some time being lazy and covid I finally decided to find my local Crossfit which was Blitz.

What is your most memorable CrossFit moment so far?

Not been a member for too long so it’s not one particular moment but how excited everyone gets when someone is getting a PB whether it’s a heavy snatch or a first muscle up, one of my first sessions someone (sorry can’t remember who) got their first ever bar muscle up and everyone went crazy after they did it. That has stuck with me since

What is your favourite movement/workout?

Heavy weightlifting sessions are always fun but I do also enjoy a gymnastic focused session

What is your least favourite movement/workout?

I’m not a fan of a long AMRAP, just too long for me with no particular milestones. No actually wall balls, they are horrible

Name a CF goal you hope to achieve by the end of this year?

Be able to get up to a handstand as that’s not something I can consistently do yet or hopefully be able to get a few pullups

What do you do when you’re not training at Blitz?

I wish I could say I lead an exciting life but I spend most of my time not at work as a software developer gaming or binging Netflix. Though I do love travelling, next up is Egypt which I have cancelled a few times due to covid

What is your favourite part of being a Blitz Member?

Looking back at the past few months of these everyone is saying the community and the coaches which is definitely true! They really are great

If you could give a new member one piece of advice- what would it be?

Don’t get intimidated by everyone being a lot fitter/stronger than you. Focus on getting the technique of everything right and before you know it you’ll be making a lot of progress

Tell us a fun fact about yourself…

I’m qualified scuba diver, done in a variety of places from the South Coast where the visibility is about 2 metres to the Great Barrier Reef
