How did you first get involved with Blitz?

I was at a gym that did WOD classes and really enjoyed them and then I realised that they were really based on CrossFit. I then moved to the area and started looking for a local new gym and found Blitz. I was a little nervous initially but after deliberating the decision for about 3 months (can you believe it!) I made the plunge and signed up for induction with Jono and I never looked back! It’s been awesome.

What is your most memorable CrossFit moment so far?

It has to be when I was able to string together my first ever set of double unders! It took months of effort taking 5mins every other session to make it happen but it was extremely satisfying when it happened. I still have a lot more to do (Tim has set me a target of 100 ) but am determined to master the skill even it may take another 6 months!

What is your favourite movement/workout?

I have to be honest I don’t have a favourite yet but just finishing every session is an absolute delight! I’m always a bit nervous initially and wonder whether I’ll be able to finish it. But as the session progresses I hold on and then suddenly by magic it’s done!!!!

What is your least favourite movement/workout?

That’s easy – Box jumps! Unfortunately I always have to scale down to step ups but hopefully with a little time and focus I’ll be jumping over the box soon (ps – when I say a little I probably mean a few years)

Name a CF goal you hope to achieve by the end of this year?

That’s easy too! – I would like to be fit enough and skilled enough to participate in the CrossFit Open in 2023. This atmosphere was great in the gym this Feb and I thought to myself I would really love to get involved next year. (Editors note: If you come to our classes your fit enough to do the open!)

What do you do when you’re not training at Blitz?

When I’m not working out I love hanging out with my 3 boys and believe me they keep me just as active as Biltz does!

What is your favourite part of being a Blitz Member?

It’s just such a friendly and supportive place, the coaches are awesome and members are always happy to share their own experiences and help.

If you could give a new member one piece of advice- what would it be?

Just enjoy yourself! Let’s be honest it’s a real privilege to be able to work out.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself…

In my youth I ran marathons and ended up doing over 30, mostly the majors London, Berlin and New York.

The fun fact is that I didn’t really enjoy running, I guess I’m either very determined or just plain stupid .
