April Member of the month // India Falconer
How did you first get involved with Blitz?
I saw a YouTube video 3 years ago of Mat Fraser and lots of other
athletes running up a hill with a sandbag and thought “
what’s that, that looks fun!” I found out it was this thing called
CrossFit and then found the nearest CrossFit gym and it was Blitz, and I’ve not looked back since!
What is your most memorable CrossFit moment so far?
There are so many, I can’t pick just one! The CrossFit Opens, Blitz birthday party workouts, Turf Games, Summer Socials, Friday night lights, Christmas workouts, GymSync, Tough Mudder, Battle cancer and the 24 hour workout (in memory of two Blitz members). We’ve had so many great workouts in the gym, and I love doing them all alongside great people!
What is your favourite movement/workout?
Squats, handstand push ups and burpees! Anything that involves squatting, jumping, running, swinging or being upside down! My favourite workouts are Murph and The Chapel… 300 squats, 240 burpees and running. Delightful!
What is your least favourite movement/workout?
Rowing - I row at the speed of a snail. 25.3 was bleak, but I couldn’t be upset because I was dressed as a tiger!
Name a CrossFit goal you hope to achieve by the end of this year
I’ve love to get a Bar Muscle Up (before the champagne goes out of date!)
What do you do when you’re not training at Blitz?
I’m a musician, guitar and piano tutor and nanny. I sing and play guitar at corporate events and weddings. I spend a lot of time with my partner Daniel and see my family and friends often, plus I recently became an auntie so we have a new member in the clan! Also lots of cooking and going to see live music - I love my life!
What is your favourite part of being a Blitz member?
Everyone says the same thing but it’s so true, the people! There are so many lovely people here.
If you could give a new member one piece of advice what would it be?
Enjoy it, fitness is supposed to be fun! Push yourself but don’t take it too seriously.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself….
I put lots of music on YouTube, so if you fancy a listen or if you know anyone getting married and they’re looking for a wedding musician… look me up! Also I went to Glastonbury with my brother and sister last year, one of the highlights of my life!
