Tom squat Clean at Blitz

How did you first get involved at Blitz?

Had to bribe a friend to join me on one of the taster sessions with the promise I’d buy her breakfast afterwards – difficult to imagine now, but initially the thought of CrossFit and Blitz was quite scary! I was completely sold, signed up to the Foundations workshop a few weeks later and haven’t looked back.

How did you first get involved at Blitz?

I had wanted to join a CrossFit gym for a fair few years, and after finally moved into an area with a local box, I managed to convince my “Couple of the Year” counterpart (Ollie Temple)to sign up to the Foundations course with me.

What is your most memorable CrossFit moment so far?

On a personal level, hitting a 100kg squat clean which took me (and the rest of the class) by surprise! The Open has also been as memorable, nothing better than having a few beers and cheering everyone else on.

What is your favourite movement/workout?

A partner WOD with rope climbs, as this is one of the few movements where being skinny and having long limbs gives me an advantage!

What is your least favourite movement/workout?

Fran. She’s nasty.

Name a CrossFit goal you hope to achieve by the end of this year?

Would love to get a bodyweight squat snatch (75kg for anyone taking notes)

What do you do when you’re not training at Blitz?

Mainly work, but on the weekends spending time with Becca and our two dogs.

What is your favourite part of being a Blitz member?

Being Graeme’s tall friend… and generally having a laugh (before dying/being sick)

If you could give a new member one piece of advice what would it be?

Go for it! Don’t be scared of the weight or the movement, the worst thing that might happen is you’ll drop it or fall over - no harm done!

Tell us a fun fact about yourself….

I am an identical triplet and you may see a long-haired, skinnier version of me roaming around Twickenham!
