What is your most memorable CrossFit moment so far?
There are many, because it is such a fun sport .. But my favourite to date has to be talking to Pav and stating all the reasons why we should go RX at the CrossFit Open and seeing him go for it, and absolutely smash it out of the park. I love that about Blitz, everyone pushes each other in such a great way and to be part of that for someone else felt good.
What is your favourite movement/workout?
I have to say all of the Olympic lifting, but specifically the clean and Jerk.
What is your least favourite movement/workout?
I am trying to make peace with Burpees, but they are still my kryptonite (amongst a few other movements)
Name a CF goal you hope to achieve by the end of this year?
I have managed to achieve my over 100kg C+J goal so I am really happy with that .. And I am super close to stringing a few rope climbs together (Thanks Coach Sam), so lots of progress already this year. But I am still eyeing up some improvements on the pull-ups in prep for next years Crossfit Open, where I intend on doing a lot better than this year (which shouldn't be too hard).
What do you do when you’re not training at Blitz?
Spend time with friends and family mostly, watching sports, eating good food and making good decisions ;)
What is your favourite part of being a Blitz Member?
There are many, but I think the spirit in the gym is super positive and the vibes are always good .. The more you involve yourself in the workouts and the overall community, the more fun it gets.
If you could give a new member one piece of advice, what would it be?
CrossFit isn't just about improving yourself physically, joining has significant positives on your mental capacity. I work in a highly stressful target based environment for work, and when I started Blitz I was probably averaging around 4 hours sleep a night .. Since joining, I feel as though I have both my physical and mental priorities in order and I am now averaging 7.5 hours of good sleep a night! It has really helped change my outlook on overall health, which is super important for everyone out there.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself
I think most people know, but I am just about to become a Dad and may already be one by the time this goes out .. Baby Temple is en route and we will make a CrossFitter out of him I am sure.
