September Member(s) of the Month // Erica & Glenn Fothergill
How did you first get involved at Blitz?
When we relocated from Northern California to SW London, we wanted to carry on training (from Diablo CrossFit) and found you on the affiliate map. I emailed Debs about a drop in, rates and couples discounts (wink, wink). Dec 2015, we stepped through the doors and found our new happy place. This was back when Blitz was one room and the vibe was grimy. We loved it!
What is your most memorable CrossFit moment so far?
Glenn: our first open and 14.5, thruster and burpee hell - RX “with an audience of keen Americans.” Haha!
Erica: completed Murph (scaled) in 2019, while pregnant. I felt quite proud and accomplished for getting through that.
What is your favourite movement/workout?
Glenn: Snatch
Erica: double DT
What is your least favourite movement/workout?
Glenn: pull ups
Erica: pull ups couple and running!
Name a CrossFit goal you hope to achieve by the end of this year?
Glenn: consistent attendance
Erica: 1000 club (so close)!
What do you do when you’re not training at Blitz?
Glenn: Run
Erica: enjoy trying new recipes, restaurants and bakeries. Love to walk. Like a lot. Part dog.
What is your favourite part of being a Blitz member?
Glenn: great community
Erica: the dear friends we’ve made. Wonderful communal feel and the inclusivity of the owners and coaches.
If you could give a new member one piece of advice what would it be?
Glenn: pace yourself, CrossFit is a marathon, not a sprint. Over the last 11 years of our “career,” we’ve witnessed lots of obsessive types fall hard/fast for the sport then quit as quickly as they started…
Erica: check your ego at the door. Enjoy it and have some fun gosh darn it.

Glenn & Erica: we met in Las Vegas 15 years ago!
