Mark has been training with us for over a decade, read on to find out what keeps him coming back week after week, and what makes Blitz so special!

March Member of the month // Britany Anderson
How did you first get involved with Blitz?
I first joined Blitz back in August 2023 coming out of the world of bodybuilding and I was interested in getting involved in CrossFit as I wanted to shift my focus to training for performance and wanted to get involved in a CrossFit community. I had looked at other crossfit boxes in the area and decided to give Blitz a go and have never looked back since.

Members’ Corner - Becky
We know the challenges of trying to fit a structured exercise regime into daily life. The additional difficulty is then when your work and lifestyle changes! Luckily CrossFit is adaptable to whatever you are going through, and the community at Blitz will always be here no matter how often you make it through the door.
Becky first joined us in August 2018, worked as a teacher and fitted CrossFit classes at Blitz around her working schedule. Fast-forward to the present day, and Becky has a 2 and a half year old daughter, and has also embarked on a career change. Read on to find out how her training has changed along with her daily routines….

How did you first get involved with Blitz?
Before joining Blitz, I was mainly into long distance running but had been looking for something more to improve my overall fitness and strength. Lou (who many of you will also know from Blitz) and I went to Thailand back in Dec 2022, and we did a fitness bootcamp in Ko Samui. The bootcamp had CrossFit sessions. I’d never heard of it before but I liked the challenge and variety of the workouts and wanted to do more.

How did you first get involved with Blitz?
I signed up the week Blitz opened in October 2013. I’d already been doing regular PT sessions with Tim for a few years and I just totally loved the training - especially lifting heavy weights for the very first time in my life - and the results we got. I knew Tim was planning his then-new venture, so joining Blitz was the natural next step for me.

One of the hardest parts of the business we are in is having to say goodbye to our members. We know that without the members, we would have no community. Without the community, we would have no Blitz. But we understand that sometimes life gets in the way and people have their personal reasons for parting ways with us.
The great thing about the aforementioned community is that it remains open. Whether you left us 6 months or 6 years ago, we will always welcome you back with open arms and get ready to pick up where we left off.

How did you first get involved at Blitz?
My wife Anna brought me along to a ‘Bring a friend’ workout in November 2022 after trying to get me signed up for 6 months and I really enjoyed the session and the coaches were great! I then signed up.

How did you first get involved at Blitz?
When we relocated from Northern California to SW London, we wanted to carry on training (from Diablo CrossFit) and found you on the affiliate map. I emailed Debs about a drop in, rates and couples discounts (wink, wink). Dec 2015, we stepped through the doors and found our new happy place. This was back when Blitz was one room and the vibe was grimy. We loved it!

August Member of the Month // Ollie Temple
How did you first get involved at Blitz?
As most people know, my gym couple, ride or die, one true fitness love, my CrossFit rock etc etc (Sorry Coach Becca) is Mr Tom Grogan .. And the reason for this is because he is the one that got me into the idea of Crossfit. Just a random message into one of our Whats App groups where he was looking for someone to go with him to the Blitz foundation class, and I am massively grateful for that!

July Member of the Month // Jess Searle
How did you first get involved at Blitz?
Lockdown. That’s when me and my boyfriend chose to move in together. He was a member at Blitz and suggested I tuned in for some of the lockdown socials and lockdown Open. Kindly Blitz let me join and take part, although at that point I wasn’t a member. I think the first time Tim and Christina ever met me, would have been virtually watching me spend 15min trying to get one wall walk, falling over and over again in my living room 😂. But from then on in, I have never left and have fallen in love with the Blitz community.

Sabrina and I were signed up to the local Gym Group and not using it. I had done an F45 free taster when we were living in Hammersmith and Sabrina went extensively when she lived in Reading. So we googled Functional Fitness near Hounslow and went to a Blitz Crossfit taster session

I had wanted to join a CrossFit gym for a fair few years, and after finally moving to an area with a local box, I managed to convince my “Couple of the Year” counterpart (Ollie Temple) to sign up to the Foundations course with me.

Had to bribe a friend to join me on one of the taster sessions with the promise I’d buy her breakfast afterwards – difficult to imagine now, but initially the thought of CrossFit and Blitz was quite scary

When we moved from Germany to England in August 2021, I was looking for a new gym. We moved to Twickenham and one of the nearest results in Google Maps was Blitz CrossFit – so I gave it a try. To be honest after 4 weeks of training I wanted to quit.

How did you first get involved at Blitz?I used to go to TIO CrossFit, but moved to Twickenham in January 2022 and signed up. I had been a couple of times before and knew some of the coaches and members which was a great start.

How did you first get involved with Blitz?I first heard about it through friends who were members and so decided to do a trial class. Prior to Blitz I was a casual gym user but found working out to be pretty monotonous. As a result I often ended up getting distracted with my itunes playlist as well as conversations with other gym users. The structured environment and fun varied workouts that Blitz offered were just what I needed!

How did you first get involved with Blitz?My flatmate (Duncan T) at the time was helping Tim do some DIY at blitz before it opened, they kept trying to convince me to join but I had googled CrossFit and was scared of the crazy workouts, I then got asked at work if I wanted to try a foundation course at Blitz and so I had a moment of madness and went along, I had my foundation course with Ben and then I was converted.

How did you first get involved with Blitz?
I was at a gym that did WOD classes and really enjoyed them and then I realised that they were really based on CrossFit. I then moved to the area and started looking for a local new gym and found Blitz. I was a little nervous initially but after deliberating the decision for about 3 months (can you believe it!) I made the plunge and signed up for induction with Jono and I never looked back! It’s been awesome.
